The geography of Palestine tn terms of ecotourism and faith tourism

This thesis aims to reveal the potential for ecotourism and religious tourism in Palestine. To this end, places and activities in Palestine with ecotourism and religious tourism potential are comprehensively discussed. Elements such as the contribution of tourism revenues to local economies, the employment opportunities it creates, and the preservation of cultural heritage have a critical role in developing strategies for Palestine to achieve its development goals. This study will analyze the ecotourism potential and the state of religious tourism in Palestine during times when it was not subject to any large-scale occupation as it is today; and will present suggestions for developing strategic approaches related to religious tourism. Furthermore, this thesis focuses on the methods necessary to ensure the sustainability of religious tourism and, in this context, evaluates the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of ecotourism and religious tourism. Sustainable ecotourism and religious tourism should be designed both to enrich the visitor experience and to benefit local communities. In addition, the thesis thoroughly addresses the factors hindering the development of religious tourism in Palestine and offers solutions to overcome the existing problems.
