Abstract (EN)
The steel used in the building system is produced in two ways: processed at high temperatures or cold formed (room cold). Cold-formed steel elements are light steel construction elements with very small wall thicknesses compared to rolled profiles, which are widespread in our country. Light steel structure types are preferred for many reasons. It does not require any heat during processing, a bright surface is obtained after shaping, and as they are locked against each other from the point, they offer high strength in return. Although they are used in many areas in our country, there is no direct national information. TS EN 1993 Section 1-3 "Additional Rules for Cold Formed Elements" and the status of our earthquake regulation AISI S100-16 Annex-1 "Design of Cold Formed Steel Elements", accepted by the Turkish Standards Institute, are used in the design and design of the elements in light steel structures. This will use the design principles in the AISI S100-16 Annex-1 standard to which TBDY 2019 refers. This purpose of use is to provide tables that will provide convenience to designers of light steel building elements by making design calculations of cold-formed steel profiles according to the standard principles we will use. In this context, 90 cold-formed Z profiles with different cross-sectional dimensions, which are commonly thought in light steel structures, were used in the thesis. It has been determined that the cross-section properties of the profiles are given some plans in the production catalogs of many companies examined, and no information is given about the torsion and distortion used in the buckling calculations. Therefore, in the first part of the thesis, the cross-section properties of the profiles examined in this study were calculated according to the principles given in the "Design of Cold Formed Steel Elements" standard published by AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) and stated in tables. The calculated cross section features were calculated and compared with other methods in the literature. In the other part of the thesis, the axial compressive strengths of the profiles are calculated according to the AISI S100-16 standard and "Design with Load and Strength Coefficients" (YKDT) under water. The design axial compressive strengths of the profiles are calculated and presented in tables for different profile lengths and their changes in different sections are examined.
