Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to examine the suitability of the activity book (El Ele 1-2-3) set sent to pre-school education institutions by the Ministry of National Education as educational material with the Ministry of National Education 2013 Pre-School Program and the views of preschool teachers. The study was conducted according to mixed research design. Data were collected by both qualitative and quantitative methods. Content analysis was carried out using the document analysis method for the activity books. Survey model and phenomenological design were used for preschool teacher opinions. Purposive sampling and easily accessible sampling method were chosen within the scope of the research. Qualitative data were collected from 13 participants and quantitative data were collected from 211 participants. Three different data collection tools were used in the study. A semi-structured interview form consisting of 10 questions developed by the researcher was used as a qualitative data collection tool regarding teacher opinions. In addition, another data collection tool used to collect teachers' opinions was the "Hand in Hand 1-2-3 Book Questionnaire", which was adapted from literature sources by the researcher. This developed questionnaire consists of 5 demographic questions and 43 main questions. In order to evaluate El Ele 1-2-3 books, the "Program Basic Features Evaluation Inventory, Learning Outcomes and Indicators Inventory, Concept Evaluation Inventory, Teaching and Picture Evaluation Inventory" developed by Akgül Alak (2016) was adapted and used. Using these inventories, El Ele 1-2-3 book set was examined in terms of the basic features of the program, achievements, concepts, instructions and pictures. Content analysis was done by coding the data obtained in the research, and statistical analysis was performed by calculating percentages and frequencies. As a result of the research, it was determined that the activity books were not prepared in accordance with the features of the MEB 2013 preschool education program, that all development areas, concepts, achievement-indicators were not included in sufficient numbers, and that the preschool teachers also found it lacking and wanted it to be revised. It is recommended to continue the use of activity books by improving, updating, dividing into age groups and eliminating deficiencies.
