The critical edition of "Kitab al-Gharam bi Adillat al-Ahkam" of al-Khaidiri (894/1489) and its comparison with "Bulugh al-Maram min Adillat al-Ahkam" of Ibn Hajar

Al-Hafiz Qutbud-din al-Khaidiri (894/1489) has written a book named as al-Gharam bi adillat al-ahkam on the way of jurists (Fuqaha) according to the school of Imam al-Shaafi'. He started his book with a preface. In preface he described his method and his sources. After that he brought the first chapter named: "The chapter of those narrations in regard of which it is said that the laws of Islam depend on them". He mentioned 28 legal/fiqhi chapters (kitab) that contain 2136 hadiths. He ended his book with a conclusion (hatimah) in which he again illustrated his method of being careful and selecting ahadith. He also discussed the carefulness regarding the determination of order on ahadith and their meanings. After that he wrote a subchapter (bâb) in the end of the book and named it as "A comprehensive chapter of the virtues" (Jāmi'ul-Mahāsin). He made his book a short book so that the students of this book could get rid of the search in long books and of reading the main sources and so that it could be beneficial for its readers and easy for its seekers. As we know that al-Khaidiri was one of the important students of Sheikhul-Islam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (852/1448) not only this but also he titled him as "Hafiz" and he was one of the ten testified students of Ibn Hajar. Khaidiri has written this book on the way of his teacher's book Bulugh al-Maram min Adillat al-Ahkam. Thus he utilized it and came with an additional information. He also amended (istidrak) the fancies (awham) of his teacher. We have determined those places while comparing both books. He has elaborated the meanings of the hadiths and untied its riddled (gharib) words. He also has given a touch to the weaknesses (ilal) of its chain (sanad) and narrators (ruwat). For this he acquired the quotations of the profound scholars of this field. Mostly he followed their verdicts (ahkam) on the ahadiths. He also indicates towards the niceness (lataif) and benefits (fawaid) of hadith while its references. Thus he benefited and done a good work in the references of hadith (tahrij) and in justification and falsification (jarh-ta'dil), and in the explanation of the meaning of the ahadith that made a clear importance for this book which made it superior than rest of the book written in this field. For the purpose to fulfill these benefits, we have divided the work on al-Gharam bi Adillat al-Ahkam into two parts. The first part is specified for the introduction of the author, his important writings, works, the study of the book written before it, description of its scripts, after that we presented a comparison between the book al-Gharam and the book of his teacher named Bulugh al-Maram in the context of their content and subject, chapters and their subchapters and lastly on the references of the hadiths (tahrij). As far as the second part is concerned, it contains the investigation depending on two of the hand scriptures. One of them is written by the author himself another one was written by someone else in his life. This part also includes the reference of hadiths and the order of their chain (asanid) in addition to the comparison with ahadith those of Bulugh al-Maram.
