Abstract (EN)

The title of the research (Al- Mustansiriya School and its role in Islamic sciences in the sixteenth century AH). I chose this title to revive the heritage of the oldest historical school founded during the era of Caliph Al-Mustansirblallah in Baghdad 625 AH, which was considered a beacon for seeking knowledge as it included many different sciences and gathered many scholars, sheikhs, preachers and imams. In addition, many students flocked to it from all over the world because it was the only school that collected the four doctrines (Hanafi Doctrine, Shafi'i Doctrine, Hanbali Doctrine, and The Maliki Doctrine). Moreover, many scholars, writers and thinkers visited it because it was distinguished in its science and construction. It is also famous for the sciences of the Qur'an, the Sunnah, hadiths and other sciences. In addition, entertainment councils were held in it, attended by kings and princes, and contained a council for settling disputes. It also had a large library that contained many different books. This school was considered a scientific and cultural center and it still exists today.
