Distribution of cognitive skills according to education level and age groups in hand preference obtained healthy male and female

Aim: The measurement of individual's mental abilities and intelligence, with the ability to react to aural and visual stimuli under stress, hand, arm, foot and eye coordination abilities and psychomotor abilities such as selective attention- problems solving is aimed to be measured scientifically. Materials and Methods: Psychotechnic Vienna Test System is a computer-aided measurement and evaluation system that being used to determine individual's mental abilities and psychomotor skills. Located in Vienna Test System, Determination test (DT) has intense stimuli flow to test individual's test ability to react under stress, Cognitrone (COG) measures the abilities of problem solving and constant attention, and Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) will measure reasoning skills. By benefiting from the Psychomotor and psychometric research laboratory archive, in respect to individuals hand preference foresight, cognitive datas will be examined by the distribution and comparing of age groups and educational levels. Results: When the hand preference is under examination, compared to healthy individuals the left-handers were found to be more successful in cognitive abilities. In the age group of 18-21 year olds reasoning ability was higher than the other groups, while the constant attention-problem-solving ability and correct response speed and quality was found to be better than the other groups. According to the number of correct responses of high school graduates were the best among the education level groups. By the reasoning and constant attention-problem solving skills in university graduate education level was found to be the best group. Conclusion: We have concluded that gender, hand preference, age and level of education may affect cognitive skills significantly.
