The optimization of production variables of modified ring spinning machine for producing yarn with elastane and effect of variables on yarn quality

In recent years, the changes in consumer demand and the textiles products used in industrail area reveal the requirement of new product. This requirements increased the studies about production of different types of yarns produced with new tecniques by use of different kinds of fibers. As a result, it has been produced yarns with different structure and properties. Nowadays, added value of conventional yarns have been decreased gradually, consequently fancy yarns produced with different properties and appearances have been replaced the conventional yarns. One of the fancy yarns is core-spun yarns. Core yarn is the yarn type that has the filament in the core and staples in the sheath, which is used to achieve the multi-functional performance.In this study, a conventional ring spinning machine is modified in order to produce core spun yarns. Servo motor controlled elastan feeding mechanism is used in this system. The motors used can be controlled by motor driver with the help of a computer. Intended type of yarns can be produced automatically when the parameters are inserted to control computer conducted which has Turkish software because of easiness to use. The basic aim of the design is to develop the current exported systems and produce a domestic system. And than, by changing different production parameters of machine, core-spun yarns with elastane is produced. The effect of production parameters on yarn quality has been investigated by appliying different quality control tests. The results derived from tests has been statistically analyzed with the aid of Design-Expert statistics packet program.
