CALCULATION OF ELASTIC STRAIN ENERGY THROUGH FOURIER TRANSFORMATION METHOD (M.Sc. Thesis) Necmi DEGE GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY September 1989 ABSTRACT In this study, elastic strain energy, which was a source of disagreement between inclusion ' and matrix produced in crystal structure, was investigated. For the production having elipsoidal structure, a solution is known in isotropic state, however, no analytic solution can be found in general anisotropic state. This difficulty encountered in the real space can partially be decreased by entering the Fourier space. After the calculation made by Fourier transformation, it was seen that energy density function kept the same symmetrical features in real space. Most suitable energetic directional have been found.
