Abstract (EN)

Due to wide usage of numerical methods in Geotechnical Engineering, constitutive relationships that model soil behavior more precisely are needed. A large number of researchers have developed a number of soil models, that are capable of modeling the behavior of soils under certain conditions, to achieve this requirement. Some of these constitutive relationships are improved versions of older relationships. In this thesis, examination of Hardening Soil Model (Schanz and Vermeer,1996), which is widely used in numerical analysis, with laboratory experiments is aimed. Triaxial tests and oedometer tests are conducted on undisturbed samples and laboratory prepared samples. The material parameters obtained from samples are used in Hardening Soil Model relationships and are compared with the experimental stress-strain curves.
