Nihat Kazazoğlu with its contributions to Elazig-Harput music

Harput is one of the oldest residential areas where the history of Elazığ started, which hosted many civilizations in Anatolia. Integrated with the culture of each civilization separately, Harput has drawn the attention and favored by a great number of people from past to present with its cultural structure, rich music, broad folklore. Harput Music has added a different richness to Turkish Music with its unique mode, instruments and performance. Important music lovers have had an impact on the preservation, promotion and transmission of this cultural heritage to future generations. Nihat Kazazoğlu, subjected in this study, has a very important place among Harput music lovers with his services for regional culture, life and works. He is considered one of the leading figures who enabled the Harput music to survive until today by keeping its authenticity. This research is a descriptive study aiming to determine a case. While the population of this study consisted of Nihat Kazazoğlu's artistic personality, life and contributions to Elazığ Harput music culture, the sample included the data obtained and accessed on the subject. The study was limited with the works of Nihat Kazazoğlu that were accessed. Some of the data obtained during the research process were transformed into various visual elements in order to provide easy expression. To state some of the research conclusions, some of these that come to our minds are Nihat Kazazoğlu's honourable personality, his being a model music lover, his great contributions to Elazığ Harput music culture as a performer, source person and compiler, his various roles in the development of music institutions and organizations considered to have an important role in the development of region's music and his leading role in the growing of regional musicians.
