Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to determine the burnout level of the primary school teachers in Elazığ, to analyze the relationship among variables and to find out solutions for the burnout problem.Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) for the measurement of burnout, Personal Information Form (PIF) for the personal and professional characteristics, and Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests for the data analysis were applied. Furthermore, correlation analysis was used in the determination the relationship among sub-mesures. By analyzing validity and reliability in measure, upper limit in tolerance was accepted as ?= 0.05.It is observed that execution forms of the task, marital status, education level, number of children of teachers have not affected burnout levels of work time (p>0.05), but gender, work time, professional competence, communication, being appreciated, economic satisfaction, age and occupational level have been effective (p<0.05). However, low grades in emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalization (D), the high grades in terms of personal success (PS) revealed that the teachers are in burnout at low level.Key Words: Depersonalization, emotional exhaustion, personal success, Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), teacher
