Abstract (EN)

Application of insulation to the outer walls of the building leads to a thought to increase costs. However, calculations show that this is not true. Fuel consumption and operating expenses decrease with the thickness of insulation to reduce heat loss through exterior walls of building. On the other hand increasing the investment cost expenses. Increases costs by increasing the amount of insulation material used in building insulation, but it also decreases the cost of heating and cooling energy consumption. According to TS 825 there are 4 different degree-days (DD) in Turkey and heat loads in these regions show differences that are required for heating buildings. Degree-days between the different regions, based on the costs of a method is needed that can help find the optimum insulation thickness. This method is a method of life cycle cost analysis (LCCA). In this study, three different insulating materials, three different type of energy source and three type of wall used, and then optimum insulation thickness, the cost of energy saving, insulation cost and payback periods were calculated for the province of Elazig.
