The effect of sport to economic development in Elazığ

ABSTRACTMahmut SAR KAYATHE EFFECT OF SPORT TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN ELAZIGIt is being clearly seen that it is important to provide development in sportsmanagement, to contribute to diversity & improvement and to combine economy and sportsso as to make assessments by the concept of sports economy.Research space is composed of the performers in sports sector of Elazıg,Implementation group is composed of Civil establishments and foundations & Privatesector ranked in Sports sector.In this research, which aims to determine the role of sports on economic developmentof Elazığ, primary and secondary resources related to the subject that are included incrosshatching model were examined using ?documentation method?, the sports budgets whichthe public institutions and organizations allocated to the sports in Elazıg, economic structuresof facilities owned by private sector & their number of employees, the number of customerthey serve for and the general interrelation of this with contribution to Elazıg economy isevaluated by ?retrospective method?.Consequently in Elazıg; it is determined that human resources and institutions whichare directly or indirectly related with sports sector and that supply merchandise and serviceand benefit from these services have a general profile of ?inadequate? level in bothqualitative & quantitative manner. However: it can be said that the contribution of economicproperty of sports to the economical development of a city can be ensured by stimulatingrelated foundations.Keywords: Economy, Sector, Development, Sports.
