IV SUMMARY Master Thesis THE STUDY OF SEASIONAL CHANGES OF NITROGENE COMPOUNDS FOUND IN DOMESTIC WASTEWATER OF ELAZI? Gülşad USLU Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Environmental Engineering 1993, Page: 54 Physical, chemical and microbiological analysis carried out of surface water samples taken from of Elazığ wastewater. Standard methods have been used for the analysis of the water samples. Data obtained from the seasonal changes of nitrogene compounds have been checked. Evaluating the data obtained from the studies, the changes of nitrogen compounds with season have been determined. Domestic wastewater discharged into Keban Dam Lake affects the lake in negatif sense. Although the base metals in the wastewater don't pollute the lake but microorganizms in the domestic wastewater pollute the lake. Microorganizms contaminated into lake affect the life in it and nutrient cycle. So it disturbs this ecological balance of the lake. Some precautions should be taken. Unlike it will become a big pollution problem for the lake in the future. Key Words: Domestic wastewater, nitrogene compounds, nitrate, amonium, nitrification, denitrification, lake pollution.
