Anthropogenic geomorphologi̇cal changes, dimensions and effects in Elazig central district

People aimed to make their lives easier by changing the areas and geomorphologies that are not suitable for them. With the geomorphology it has changed, people have been provided with the opportunity to settle in rugged areas where it is difficult to settle in their favor, and transportation has become easier in areas where transportation is difficult. The aim of this study is to reveal the changes that occur due to human activities in the central district of Elazig and the anthropogenic geomorphology conditions that arise as a result of these changes. With the increase in population in Elazig, new settlement areas were established. People cause changes on geomorphology in Elazig not only with new settlements, but also for different reasons such as roads and mining works. In this study, the extent of the changes in geomorphology and what kind of problems it may cause in the future are emphasized. In the study, field studies and GIS studies will be carried out to determine the anthropogenic geomorphological changes in the city of Elazig and its immediate surroundings. After the literature review, the maps obtained from the General Directorate of Maps were digitized and maps of slope aspect, elevation, topography, land use, settlement areas, roads, vegetation types were created. A preliminary study was conducted about the obtained land use change and the distribution of anthropogenic geomorphology conditions in the basin. After this stage, firstly, quantitative data were produced in order to understand the anthropogenic geomorphology status, change and effect in the study area.
