Abstract (EN)

The thesis study generally includes the determination of iron field reserves in Muratcık-Fatmalı region of Elazığ using two different methods. In this context, iron deposit reserves in the region were determined using Inverse Distance Weighted method (IDW) and Kriging methods. In this study, data obtained from different drilling points were used to estimate the iron amount of the region. In line with the data obtained from the drilling points, ore modeling was divided into 3 regions and reserve estimates were made. Implicit method and sections were used in ore modeling. Estimated reserve results obtained using IDW and Kriging methods were compared. A total of 304,254 tons of estimated iron from Kriging method. In terms of average grades in reserve tonnages, iron content was found as 26.63% in Kriging and 28.30% in IDW method. While high values were obtained in reserve tonnage estimates calculated with Kriging method, IDW method gave higher results in average grade estimates. According to the results obtained, it is predicted that more accurate modeling can be done according to additional drilling and analysis data to increase the accuracy of reserve and average grade estimates. In this way, clearer results can be obtained regarding the reserve and average grade estimates of the iron mine in the region and its contribution to the regional economy can be increased.
