Özet (EN)

The present study offers a linguistic and stylistic analysis of two povests of Elçin Efendiyev, who is one of the prominent authors of Azerbaijani literature. The povests taken as the main samples for the analysis are ?Toyuğun Diri Galması? (Survival of a Hen) and ?Dolça?.The study has three chapters. In the first chapter Elçin?s language and style has been assessed in morphological, phonological and lexicological terms under 28 titles. The main concern of this assessment has been to find out different usages found in Elçin?s povests that do not appear in the standard grammatical books and lexicons. At this stage of the study, it has been detected that vernacular aspects of Old Anatolian Turkish and Azerbaijani Turkish are widely reflected in povests. In the first chapter, under the title concerning style, viewpoint and narrative techniques have been analysed as well. In the second chapter standard Turkish (Turkey) versions of the two povests are given. Under the third chapter Latin transcription of the original Cyrillic versions of both povests take place. Keywords: Elçin Efendiyev, Azerbaijani Literature, povest, language and style.
