Abstract (EN)
The research aimed to determine the effect of the context-based comic book (CBCB) developed for the Conduction of Electricity unit on the development of students' grounded mental model (GMM). The research was conducted in an experimental design with a quantitative approach. 59 students, 27 in the experimental group and 32 in the control group, participated in the research. For the research, CBCB and context-based Electricity Transmission learning situations test (CLST) were developed. The data collected with CLST were analyzed. As a result of the research, it was determined that the GMM of the experimental and control groups in the conductors, insulators and electrical resistance question groups before the teaching practices were mostly inconsistent mixed models (IMM). After the teaching practices, it was determined that while the development of GMM was limited in the control group students, the students in the experimental group showed more development of GMM. In addition, the change situations of the experimental group students were examined in depth. It was concluded that CBCB is an effective teaching material. As a result of the results obtained in the research, it was suggested that the GMM approach be investigated in different courses and subjects. It has been recommended that CBCB be disseminated due to its contribution to eliminating learning deficiencies.
