In our technological age, electric power has an increasing importance.The mission of the enterprises that are responsible for electric powerproduction, transmission and distribution is to deliver affordable andquality power to the consumers. Quality power should be continuous,no-ripple, constant sinus voltage. Therefore, electric power systemplanning should be economic, reliable, forward looking and flexible. Inthis study, the importance of load demand forecast has beenemphasized and some information about old-new load demand forecastmethods has been given. At the same time, by pinpointing Turkey?ssocio economic structure, growth in population and GDP growth andalso by analyzing electric power demand development forecast for theyears 2005-2020; a supply plan conforming to the methodology used byMinistry of Power describing the revisions in power plants and changesto be done has been submitted.Key Words : Electric energy, Load demand forecast, Planning
