The effect of electricity privatization on the costs of textile enterprises: Cost analysis

Electrical energy is a very important energy type for human life used by millions of people. The electricity sector has a significant share in the world and country economy. Electric energy has a significant impact on the sectors that produce. Textile sector is one of the leading sectors. Textile production is realized by machines developed by technology. The increase in global competition has made it necessary to produce products with high quality at lower cost. Taking such a shape of the global market also increases the importance of cost accounting and cost accounting in textile enterprises. The aim of the study is to reveal the effect of the privatized electrical energy on the cost of textile enterprises. In this direction, the new formation of the electrical energy sector, the development of the textile sector, the cost of the electricity energy price used in the textile sector as an input to determine the product cost method was used to determine the cost. The cost structure of the products which are the subject of production of the two companies operating in Gaziantep was obtained from the financial consultancy office which serves these enterprises. As a result of the privatization of electricity, Y tekstil textile joint stock company, which uses its right to choose its supplier as a free consumer, has doubled the cost of 0.24 Turkish Liras per unit according to X textile joint stock company the two companies operating in Gaziantep, X Inc. and Y textile joint stock company are mentioned comparatively in the textile production business.
