Özet (EN)

In recent years, applications to reduce vehicle-related emission values have increased the tendency of electric vehicles, accelerating existing weight reduction efforts. This situation has brought the use of aluminium alloys, especially in electric vehicle battery carriers. The most suitable way to weld aluminium is at the beginning of the problems to be solved. In addition to traditional methods, friction stir welding has also come to the fore in recent years among the welding types of battery carrier boxes in electric vehicles. In this research, the comparison of arc welding and friction stir welding (FSW), the effect of the speed of the tool used in FSW welding on the welding and the effect of the thickness of the plates on the parameters in the FSW welding were investigated. The change of microhardness values, mechanical properties, penetration analysis and porosity of the sheets produced by extrusion were examined. In line with these investigations, it has been determined that the mechanical properties of FSW welding are better than arc welding, namely the tensile stress, elongation and microhardness values. It has been observed that the tool feed rate has a positive effect on the mechanical properties with a certain limit. The effect of the wall thickness on the FSW method showed the increase in the overlap force and the importance of the geometry of the tool to be used.
