Özet (EN)
The increasing prevalence of electric vehicles (EVs), has brought significant attention to the efficiency, reliability and controllability of the power electronic circuits utilized in these systems. In this study, a current source inverter (CSI) based power converter architecture is investigated as an alternative solution for electric vehicle drive systems. Unlike conventional voltage source inverters (VSIs), the CSI topology offers several advantages such as inherent short-circuit protection, high reliability, and the ability to directly control the motor current. Within the scope of this thesis, a control system based on CSI topology was designed for driving a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), and a compatible vector control (Field Oriented Control - FOC) algorithm was developed. The mathematical modeling of the system was carried out, and fundamental theoretical frameworks such as Clarke and Park transformations and flux and torque control in the d-q reference frame were detailed. Additionally, parameters that affect the quality of motor current such as current ripple, modulation index, and inductance value were analyzed to determine optimal operating conditions. Simulation-based analysis showed that the proposed CSI-based control system successfully operated the PMSM and that the motor's current and torque responses accurately tracked the reference values. The system's stability under varying speed and load conditions was also evaluated. The results demonstrate that CSI-based motor drives offer a highly efficient and controllable alternative for electric vehicle applications. This thesis aims to contribute to the development of high-efficiency, compact, and reliable motor drive systems for future electric vehicle technologies.
