Abstract (EN)

In these days, with the increasing population, the rate of usage of individual vehicles and public transportation that has joined the transportation sector is increasing rapidly. Parallel to this, the rate of fossil fuel use is increasing considerably. In addition to its use in the transportation sector, fossil fuels are also used extensively in power generation, buildings and industry. Awareness of this situation has enabled research and development of electric vehicles. In this thesis, brushless direct current, DC motor design which is aimed to be used in electric vehicles which replaces today 's transportation vehicles is given. DC motor design studies started with the examination of electric vehicle systems. After the determination of the motor parameters and materials to be used, ANSYS RMxprt program made analytical analysis and motor geometries were created and design optimization studies of the motor were realized. Motor design was evaluated in terms of parameters such as moment, efficiency and speed and it was decided to produce motor prototype with 51/46 groove / pole ratio. The results obtained by the finite element method of the motor were compared with the experimental results. In subsequent driving trials, it was found that the motor was operating at its intended performance and without any problems.
