Abstract (EN)

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is one of the most studied metal oxide material due to its extraordinary physical and chemical properties. It finds a wide variety applications such as gas sensing, water purification, electrochromic devices, photovoltaic cell, etc. This material can be synthesized by different methods including sol-gel, physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition and electrodeposition. Among these, electrodeposition is especially attractive due to its low cost and simplicity. In this study, a series of carbon-doped TiO2 films were synthesized using two electrode cell electrodeposition system. The films were synthesized at different voltage, duration time and titanium resources concentration. The obtained films were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis techniques. The SEM images showed continuous films with different morphologies. From the XPS spectra, it was observed that the compositions of the films are oxygen, titanium and carbon. The XPS spectra were also revealed that carbon was successfully doped as both interstitial and substitutional in TiO2 matrix and lattice, respectively. XRD analyses showed amorphous nature of TiO2 films. The obtained results suggested that the proposed method was effective for obtaining carbon doped amorphous TiO2 films.
