Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the properties of nanofibers produced by electro-drawing of solution compositions obtained by mixing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymer with 45S5 bioactive glass material, which is highly effective in the prevention of dentine hypersensitivity and the development of tooth enamel, and to reveal its potential in dental applications. In the literature, applications of nanofibers produced by electro-drawing method in the dental field are available but insufficient. In addition to filling this gap in the literature, developing a biocompatible material for dental sensitivity problem and microcracks on tooth enamel will be an important difference. First of all, the optimum experimental parameters were determined by keeping the PVP ratio constant (4%). Then, composite fibers were produced by adding various concentrations of PVP in this parameter and bioactive glass (45S5) to this polymer solution (2% and 4%). The morphological, physical, chemical and characteristic properties of the developed fibers were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). According to the SEM results, the nanofibers produced at the optimum parameter were bead-free and homogeneous in thickness. FTIR spectra showed that all nanofibers retained their characteristic properties. As a result, 45S5-added PVP nanocomposite fibers are promising as potential remineralization materials.
