COMPUTER AIDED OPERATION OF ELECTRONIC TELEPHONE CENTRALS (M. Sc. Thesis) Metin ÖZÇELİK GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY March 1997 ABSTRACT The fast development of the technology results in high technological development in communication as well. However, small size telephone exchanges are still used in rural areas which are old technological products. Therefore, these exchanges must be changed with new technological products or they must be modernized. In this work, maintenance of exchanges are achieved remotely by modems. The exchanges are provided by a program which is developed using Quickbasic 7.0. Some parts of this program are used successfully in Türk Telekom A.Ş. Rural Area Central Maintenance Services.
