Abstract (EN)
In opposition to the traditional methods, the contemporary methods focus on the need of a continuous assessment process and individualized assessment. If assessment takes place in every step of education process, it would be more objective and realistic.One of the tools that is implemented in process assessment is student portfolios and with the development of technology, student portfolios have been transferred to electronic form and the Web.The aim of this study is to search the effects of using electronic portfolios on 7th grade students? attitudes towards computers and the Internet and to find out the students? views about portfolios.In this research, the pattern of pre-test and final-test with a control group was used. Participants consist of 33 people, 16 of whom belong to the experiment group and 17 of whom to the control group. The application covers a period of 14 weeks. Data gathering tools implemented in this research are personal information forms, computer attitude scale, internet attitude scale and opinion forms. The gathered data was analyzed by using the average, standard deviation, t-test, variance analysis, two-factor ANOVA analysis, frequency and percentage techniques.As a result of this analysis, no significant difference has been found in the attitudes of experiment group students towards computers and the Internet after the implementation of electronic portfolios.When student views were analyzed, it was observed that an electronic portfolio was regarded as a useful study tool due to the factors that it provided the organized collection of products, working with multimedia items provided flexibility in studies and it gave the students the opportunity of experiencing success. Hence, the students have positive attitudes towards preparing electronic portfolios.Key Words: Electronic Portfolios, Information Technology Teaching, Assessment, Attitudes Towards Computers, Attitudes Towards the Internet.
