Abstract (EN)

Elif Safak is one of the writers of Republican Period of Turkish Literature. The writer who handles individual and social issues, describes the time congestion, despair, loneliness and depression of modern humans as well as the world of the commodified / objectified woman, the sexuality and the cultural conflict. The study, named "Structure and theme in Elif Şafak's novels", consists of three chapters. The first chapter gives information about the childhood, the art, the works of the writer and the prizes awarded by her; second chapter gives information about structure and trajectory in her novels; and the third chapter focuses on narrative techniques and methods of the writer. Apart from these three chapters, there is General Bibliography chapter including essays and master theses about her, and interviews with her. Key words: Elif Şafak, novel, structure and theme, language and style.
