Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, It has been aimed to analyze the tactical situations ofelite Turkish tennis players in competitions. Analysis of the tacticalsituations have been made in terms of 5 game situations which areservice, baseline rally, volley, playing against to player at volley (passingshot) and return. Performance metrics of these 5 game situations havebeen determined as the winners and unforced errors.In this study, 64 men with average age of 21,34±4,77 and 44women with average age of 17,70±3,44 attended to the study asvolunteers. Results of 94 matches which consist of 59 men?s matches and35 women?s matches have been assessed by according the matchesusing camcorder and analyzing the records. Analysis of records weremade by watching the individual men and women matches andperformance of players in terms of 5 game situations has been written intorating form. The collected data from the video records have beenstatistically analyzed by using SPSS v15.Results of the statistical analysis obtained by SPSS v15 has shownthat women players have high scores from the rallies and returns howeverthey have high unforced errors rate in service, rally and return shots. Menplayers has gained scores from the services, passing shots and returns,on the other hand they have made most of the unforced errors in passingshots and volleys.
