Investigation of sportive success levels of elite star basketball players in terms of different variables

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the sportive success levels of elite star basketball players in terms of different variables. Cross-sectional survey model, one of the non-experimental quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The basketball achievement test scale developed by Çelik (2011) was used as a data collection tool. The scale was arranged in a 5-point Likert-type grading format from "1: I totally disagree" to "5: I totally agree". All expressions determine the interest and success in basketball. The scale was one factor and included 14 statements in total. The reliability coefficient of the scale was calculated as 90, the validity coefficient as 90. The data of the research were prepared by the 203 elite star basketball players who made up the sample, and the scale forms were prepared on the google form and filled in on a voluntary basis. The population of the research consists of athletes between the ages of 15-18 playing in the stars category in Türkiye. The sample consists of 203 female and male athletes who voluntarily agreed to participate in the research. In the analysis of the data, firstly, normality and linearity analysis were performed. As a result of the data obtained as a result of the analysis, it was seen that the data showed linear and normal distribution. Simple linear regression analysis was performed to determine the effects of different variables on the success of elite star basketball players. Demographic data are expressed in percentage and frequency. The results obtained from the analysis of the scale items are stated as descriptive and descriptive. While it was found that the gender, age and years of sportsmanship of the athletes affected their sportive success, it was concluded that the educational status of the parents did not affect the sportive success. As a result, the sportive success levels of elite star basketball players in terms of different variables are affected according to the variables of gender, age and year of sportsmanship.
