Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effect of apple vinegar and sodium diacetate supplementation on the aerobic stability of high moisture fermented corn. In the study, the effect of three different levels (such as 0, 0.5, 1.0%) of sodium diacetate and apple vinegar supplementation to fermented high moisture corn in room and incubator conditions were investigated. The material of the study was fermented grain corn (rolled grain) with 62% moisture content stored for about 120 days. Silage samples were subjected to aerobic stability test with 3 replicates for each treatment group. Aerobic stability, pH, dry matter (DM), lactic acid (LA), water-soluble carbohydrate (WSC), ammonia-dependent nitrogen (NH3-N), LAB, yeast and mold counts at 0, 2, 4, 7 and 12 days were analyzed. In addition, samples were displayed in the T200 IR brand thermal camera and the data were evaluated in the ThermaCAM software program. On the 12th day, it was observed that the lowest pH values were determined in silages stored at high temperatures and the effect of storage temperatures was found statistically significant (P<0.001). Ammonia-dependent nitrogen results were also found to decrease in high temperatures (P<0.01). Only the 1% SDA supplemented group had lower NH3-N in the room conditions (P<0.01). In the present study, LA values ranged between 8.81-13.60 on the second day, and observed between 0.30-11.41 on the twelfth day of aerobic stability. According to the results of the twelfth day of aerobic stability, there was an increase in LAB counts of silage samples stored in the incubator compared to those in the chamber, but a decrease in yeast count was observed (except vinegar control group) (P <0.001). The number of molds on day 12th of aerobic stability was determined as 0 in all treatment groups. It is seen that the temperature of silage samples stored in incubator conditions has found higher depending on the ambient temperatures. However, when the temperature differences of the silages with the storage environment are considered, it is seen that the temperature differences increase in the room conditions and the heating occurs.
