Abstract (EN)

The effects of 101 and 102 concentrator wastes of Emet Boric Acid Factory on barley(Hordeum vulgare L. cv. nce04) and wheat (Triticum sativum L. cv. Altay 2000) germinationand vegetative growth were searched. Barley and wheat plants were grown with 0, 20, 40, 60,80, 100, 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 ppm solutions of 101 and 102 concentrator wastesduring 7 days. There was no inhibitory effects of wastes on germination of barley and wheat seeds.Barley and wheat root and stem length, root and stem fresh and dry weigths increased in someapplications of 101 concentrator wastes between 20 and 200 ppm concentrations and 102concentrator wastes between 20 and 400 ppm concentrations. Length, fresh and dry weights ofthe plants were reduced significantly in applications of 400 ppm and above concentrations of101 concentrator wastes and 600 ppm and above concentrations of 102 concentrator wastes. These reductions were more clear in applications used 101 concentrator waste.Key words: Boron, boron factory wastes, barley, wheat, germination, vegetative growth.
