Abstract (EN)
Emine Işınsu can be considered as a novel author amongst the Turkish novelists that became known 1960s. Poems, plays, stories, assays, and crititics are areas she produced literary pieces. Understanding her writings can help us to comprehend how the life itself was conceived in that era by her and her contemporaries. This thesis has three chapters. First chapter focused on the aforementioned author's life, her characteristics in her literature pieces, and her literary pieces themselves. In the second chapter, seventeen novels of Emine Işınsu were analysed regarding their structure and theme. While doing that, not only methods of literature analysing were applied but also methods of history, psychology, philosophy, sociology, and Islamic sufism were taken into account. As a result of these analyses, it can be interpreted that novels of Işınsu presents us a deep quest for what being a human means, psychological transformation of humans depending on their experiences, and a pursuit for existentialist meaning. Final chapter was devoted to her use of language and style. Işınsu's preferences related to her vocabulary usage and sentence structure taste were also explored in that chapter. Results part includes discussions about Işınsu's novels and her type and style of literary preferences. Some findings extrapolated from her novels were explained in this section as well.
