Abstract (EN)

People have been immigrating for centuries because of political, economical or social reasons. Among the immigrants, literary talented people have expressed their feelings, their new life in foreign countries in their mother tongue or in their second language. In this way an immigrant literature has occurred all around the world. For this study German literary works written by immigrant Turks has an important place. One of them is Emine Sevgi Özdamar who has immigrated to Germany and begun writing in German. In this study, 'third space' is examined in detail in Özdamar's latest work titled Seltsame Sterne starren zur Erde. What is a 'third space' and why do the people need a 'third space'? After a literary sociological research, it is seen that 'third space' is a place where people are in need of feeling themselves better. In the study it is also aimed to make use of this new literary perspective in foreign language classes. This literary perspective has to obtain the student competence to interpret a literary text in a different point of view. Finally a course model was presented in order to find out 'third space' in a literary work
