Empirical analysis of the impact of trade openness and logistics performance on human development in OECD countries

This thesis empirically examines the effects of trade openness and logistics performance on the Human Development Index (HDI) across OECD countries. The findings suggest that logistics performance positively influences HDI by improving infrastructure and access to essential services, while trade openness has a negative impact due to rising income inequality and environmental consequences. Using 2022 data from 38 OECD countries, the OLS regression results also confirm a significant positive effect of GDP per capita on HDI. The study emphasizes that development strategies must go beyond economic growth and prioritize infrastructure, equity, and sustainability.
