Abstract (EN)

There are important breast problems due to various reasons in the early postpartum period. Nipple pain and cracks, which are common among breast problems, mostly occur in the first 1-2 weeks of breastfeeding. In the research, before breastfeeding is not left in the early postpartum period due to nipple crack and/or nipple pain, to ensure that mothers can continue breastfeeding without suffering by learning the correct breastfeeding techniques, by comparing the effects of aloe vera gel and pure wax and understanding how effective it is, the nipple crack and pain have not been formed. It is aimed to prevent. The study was conducted in Gaziantep, with a total of 105 women who had a cesarean delivery in a gynecology and maternity hospital, who met the sample criteria and agreed to participate in the study (Aloe Vera Group: 35, Pure Wax Group: 35, Control Group: 35). Questionnaire, Follow-up Form, LATCH Breastfeeding Diagnostic Scale and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) were used in the data collection phase. As a result of the study, we can say that aloe vera and wax are effective in preventing nipple pain and there is a statistically significant difference between the control group and the experimental groups (x²: 68.7 p: 0.00 <0.05). When we compare participants' crack formation at the nipple after application, there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental groups and the control group (p: 0.00 <0.05). We can say that aloe vera and wax prevent nipple crack. The effect of aloe vera and wax is the same in preventing nipple crack. In conclusion, in our study to evaluate the effectiveness of aloe vera gel and pure wax in preventing nipple cracks and pain, it was concluded that aloe vera gel and pure wax are effective in preventing nipple crack and pain.
