Abstract (EN)

In this study, antioxidant, antimikrobial and DNA protective activities of two different endemic species (Astragalus tokatensis Fischer and Verbascum myrianthum Boiss.) have been investigated. There has been no study yet on bioactive compound of these two plants in the literature rewiew. Therefore, water, methanol, hexane and dichlormetane extracts of flowers and leaves of these two plants were obtained and their biological activities were investigated. Different extracts showed different antioxidant activity, especially in the Astragalus tokatensis Fischer ony water extract of the leaf part while in Verbascum myrianthum Boiss. both flower and leaf parts were found to be active in water extract. Again in terms of antibacterial activity, the flower extract of Astragalus tokatensis Fischer against Stenotrophomonas maltophilia bacterium was extracted from water extract and leaf extract from methanol extract while Verbascum myrianthum Boiss. was effective only on methanol extract. In Astragalus tokatensis Fischer, which showed the most protective activity in terms of DNA protective activity, all extracts of flower part hexane and dichlormetane extract of leaf part and Verbascum myrianthum Boiss extract of water, hexane and dichlormetane extract of leaf part and hexane dicholormetane extracts were determined. As a result, it has been demonstrated that both of the plants of Astragalus tokatensis Fischer and Verbascum myrianthum Boiss. have active compounds with antioxidant, antibacterial and DNA protective properties.
