Abstract (EN)

Kaba navruz (Iris galatica) is an endemic type deployed in Middle and East Anatolian in Turkey. There couldn't be encountered to any research aimed at bioactive components about I. galatica herb. I. galatica was diagnosed by being collected around Tokat and dried in the shadow. Hexane, dichloromethane, methanol and water extract were gained from different part of I. galatica. Antioxidant, antibacterial and DNA protective activities were studied. For antioxidant activities, Rel Assay Diagnosticskits (TAS, TOS) and DPPH method was used. Antibacterial activity using 9 different standart bacteria strain according to CLSI, MIC method (minimum inhibition concentration) were used. For DNA protective activity, it was studied using pBR322 plazmid DNA and UV. According to the acquired results, It was determined that herbroot, flower and leaf extract in the field have antioxidant activity depending concentration. It was determined that all of extracts acquaired from the parts of root, flower and leaf showed protective effect on DNA, UV and H2O2's DNA. It was revealed that I. galatica has got antioxidant, antibacterial and DNA protective especially active components.
