Review of Enderun School according to education-training programs

REVIEW OF ENDERUN SCHOOL ACCORDING TO CURRENT EDUCATION PROGRAMS Uğur Yavuz Master's Thesis, Department of Social Sciences and Turkish Education, Thesis Advisor: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Mustafa Akkaya, 2024 In the research, the education program of Enderun Mektebi was examined comparatively with the education programs of Science and Art Centers (BİLSEM), which are among today's gifted schools, and the Gifted Education Programs (ÜYEP) within Anadolu University, and Enderun Mektebi's education programs were compared to BİLSEM and ÜYEP programs, which are today's gifted schools. It is aimed to reveal similar and different features. Qualitative research methods were used in the study. Data were obtained through document review and literature review, which are frequently used in qualitative research. The data obtained was obtained using the content analysis technique. According to the data of the research, it has been determined that the Enderun School program and the BİLSEM-ÜYEP program have similar and different points. Enderun School is very similar to BİLSEM and ÜYEP in student identification and selection, and although there are differences in the courses taught at Enderun, Science, Mathematics and Foreign Language courses are similar. It has been determined that the conditions such as harsh discipline, religious lessons, receiving salaries and vocational training in Enderun School differ with the BİLSEM and ÜYEP education program. In the light of the research findings, although Enderun Mektebi has differences compared to BİLSEM and ÜYEP, which provide gifted education today, it has been seen that it has similar aspects and even stands out at some points.
