Abstract (EN)

Raja Ali Haji was one of the great writers and thinkers of the Riau Malay community, leaving behind a significant intellectual and religious legacy. His works not only possess literary and aesthetic value but also contain moral, social, and Islamic teachings that have retained their relevance across generations. His ideas emphasize the integration of Islam and Malay culture as the foundation for the formation of identity and civilization within the Malay community. This study aims to analyze the impact of Raja Ali Haji’s ideas on the Riau Malay community from his death in 1872 to the present day. Through his works, such as Gurindam Dua Belas, Tuhfat al-Nafis, and Kitab Pengetahuan Bahasa, it has been demonstrated that his ideas have been continuously inherited and practiced, shaping the ethics, language, and Islamic traditions of the Malay community from generation to generation despite significant changes over time.
