The Effect of technology on architecture after the industrial development

The technics applied to architecture has been one of the most important elements of architecture throughout the history. Especially, the use of new architecture elements and newly developed techniques Just after the industrialization period in 18 cc and the industrial revolution at the end of that century, caused collective alternations in architecture. With the effects of the enlightenment philosophy of that period a new world was established in the world which was getting rid of its moral values. Traditional architecture technics were revised again. With the arising of new architecture theories and new construction has never been observed. The rational thoughts through the 18th century let to the foregrounding of science & technology and the questioning of architecture styles. These developments emphasized technology in architecture both in theory and practice. My aim is, to show the interesting situations arising from the reaction of technology and architecture, and, to enlighten the creative effects of technology on architecture means. Especially to find out the adventure of this effect through the end of 19th century and 20th century when great technological changes occurred. The relations ship between technology and architecture is a bit confusing. It is composed of many components which are in interaction with each other. Some concepts that create this relation and that are important in architecture will be observed. The analysis of these concepts will form the basis for the explanation of the relationship between today's architecture and technology. Observing the changes in technology and architecture though out the century an idea about their relationship will be forming. n
