Abstract (EN)

The more the professional and technical education improve in terms of quantity and quality and adaptation to current conditions is fulfilled, the more national economy improves. The main motive of this research is to compare the students of profession High schools and general high schools in terms of individual and social variables and perceptions. In the study general surveillance model is utilized. A survey including 43 questions is prepared. The survey is applied to 704 students studying in General High School and Professional High School. The survey results are analyzed with SPSS statistical program package. Following results are obtained in the study ; When the distribution of General High School and Professional High School students, according to their social and economical status, is investigated, it is possible to say that generally they were of equal level. Considering the pre-high school education of the students, Professional school students have lower graduation grades and higher rate of disciplinary punishment/warning. Considering the post-graduation expectations of students, it's sees that withou~ separating out General High School and professional high school, high proportion of students think of university education, professional school students have higher belief of employment but less belief of going to a four-year university department. Again as a result of research it can be put forward that students ar their parents decide which school they will attend. Students' interest in social and cultural activities are generdly of c k level. It is seen that parental support on education is approximateiy equal h r dl students.
