Abstract (EN)

The amount of industrial waste has been increasing due to the development of industrialization. The use of the industrial waste in different areas should be investigated in order to solve the environmental and economic problems caused by these waste. In this respect, the main aim of this study is to investigate the producibility of self-compacting lightweight concrete (SCLS) containing an admixture of industrial waste. In the production of SCLC, while marble, granite, basalt dusts, fly ash and filter cake waste of a sugar factory were used as mineral admixture, pumices of Van region were used as aggregates. SCLC mixtures were produced by replacing industrial waste with the cement at the ratios of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% by weight. In addition, fresh and hardened properties of SCLC were examined. In order to determine the properties of fresh SCLC, unit volume weight, slump-flow, T50, V-funnel, L-box and U-box tests were conducted, while compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, capillary water absorption, thermal conductivity and dry unit weight tests were performed to determine the properties of hardened SCLC. Furthermore, hardened samples were exposed to the temperatures of 300oC, 600oC and 900oC to determine the effects of high temperature on the samples. As a result of the experiments, it was found that industrial wastes could be used for the production of SCLC by replacing all of them with cement up to a ratio of 10%. This study emphasizes the role of usage of industrial waste in the production SCLC in the reduction of environmental problems caused by these waste and the economic benefits of its usage.
