Abstract (EN)
One of the most important development was the the innovation of electricity in 18th century which has led to many new technologies to emerge since then. One of the metal coating technigue is commercially named galvanic coating technique which has wide spread industrial application areas in metal coating through anode - cathode reaction in electrolytic solutions by electric potential application. Metal coating is applied especially on metals for corrosion prevention, increased mechanical properties such as hardness and wear resistance. There are various types of metal coating such as hard chrome, zinc, copper, nickel, cadmium coating which provide hardness and wear resistance, corrosion resistance, electric conductivity and decorative appearance respectively. In this study, metal coating technology investigated in detail and widely used metal coating type are classified according to their industrial application areas, technology used, and mechanical properties obtained. Technical and commercial aspects of metal coating is studied and guiding information is presented for choice of appropriate metal coating type and method in engineering fields. Keywords: Metal Coating, galvanizing, Hard Chrom, Copper lead Coating.
