Abstract (EN)

This study aims to thoroughly examine the effects of simulation software used in the casting industry on production processes. The casting industry holds critical importance as one of the foundational elements of modern manufacturing technologies. Casting simulation programs provide powerful tools for casting engineers, enabling the prediction of production defects, optimization of design processes, and enhancement of product quality. The research addresses how simulation software creates a difference in casting processes, the convenience these tools bring to engineering applications, and their cost-effectiveness. By utilizing simulation software, mold filling and solidification processes have been analyzed in detail, making it possible to prevent production errors. Additionally, the integration of CAD and CAE software into the design processes has allowed casting components to be optimized in terms of durability and efficiency. The use of casting simulations has been shown to make quality control processes more effective and to enable engineers to make more informed design decisions. Furthermore, the thesis topic (1219098-PN40 and PN63 Pressure Class Steel Gate Valve Design Project) has been supported by the TÜBİTAK Technology-Oriented Industry Initiative Program and was successfully completed on January 30, 2024.
