Abstract (EN)
In power plants, demineralized water is used in water-steam cycles. Demineralized water: It is produced by purification by ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, cation-anion resin columns or electrodeionization techniques. While using these techniques, the system is fed by removing the impurities in the water in order to increase the life of the technique used by reducing the operating costs. Silicon dioxide, also known as silica, is an oxide of silicon with the chemical formula SiO 2 . Silica, one of the many pollutants in the steam/water circuit, is important because of its high solubility in steam. 50% of the silica in boiler waters operating at high pressures and temperatures is dissociated. In case the excess ion dissolves at high pressure and high temperature, it starts to settle to the bottom in the boiler systems with the increasing concentration and scale begins to form. The difference of silica from other impurities is that it forms an amorphous structure in the system in which it precipitates, since it is the raw material of glass. It is difficult or even impossible to clean the amorphous structure without damaging the system. However, many conditioning methods have been developed with the developing technologies recently. In this study, the effect on SiO 2 mineral impurity, which is the most problematic during pure water production, will be investigated and examined by conditioning with Bacillus subtilis, a non-pathogenic, rod-like sporulating bacteria species commonly found in soil, which is a gram-positive bacteria species. For this reason, after the pre-treatments for water conditioning are completed, Wet method analyzes will be carried out in the UV spectrophotometer to perform photometric, gravimetric and instrumental silica determination and the study will be completed.
