Abstract (EN)

Besides a decrease in fossil fuel resources and uneven distribution of them, owing to theenvironmental problems resulted from use of fossil fuel, we have started to look intoalternative renewable energy resources and think about how we will be able save and useenergy efficiently. Thus, we have been using mechanical heat pump for a long time.Chemical heat pumps, having a high potential which represents a new technology, aim to usethe energy efficiently in many industrial processes. In order to increase the heat level of thewaste heat under low temperature, chemical heat pump utilize reversible chemical reactionssuch as organic and inorganic reactions. In this project, it is aimed to show the feasibility of n-hexane / 1-hexene / H2 chemical heatpump. With this in mind, the theoretical analysis of system was made on the basis of thethermodynamics and equilibrium data and then the thermal efficiency limits of the cycle wasindicated. The highest efficiency value at P = 4 atm was calculated for TL = 389 K andTH = 448 K as 0,993. According to these data, our efficiency value is 0,694.Keywords : Chemical Heat Pump, n-hexane / 1-hexene / H2 system, chemical heat pumpcalculations, dehydrogenation catalystsJURY:1.
