Abstract (EN)

The increase in energy needs and consumption on a global basis increases the importance of effective design and management of energy production and distribution networks. In an electrical energy distribution network, the electrical energy produced in the power plants is transmitted from the transmission centers to the transformation centers with high voltage. The voltage of the transmitted energy is lowered in the transformation centers, and the lowered energy is transmitted to the distribution centers. Distribution centers are used to measure, control, and protect the transmitted energy. Medium voltage energy in the distribution centers is transmitted to distribution transformers. Distribution transformers reduce the voltage to the low voltage level that can be used by the end users and transmit the reduced voltage electrical energy to the field distribution boxes. Field distribution boxes are facilities that are installed close to end users according to their needs and transmits the energy to the end users. This study focuses on a supply chain consisting of transformation centers, distribution centers, distribution transformers, and field distribution boxes, and proposes a two-stage stochastic programming model for the electrical energy distribution network design under demand uncertainty. The proposed model is tested on a real-life case study regarding Eskişehir province, which, on one hand, shows the applicability of the proposed model on real-life cases, and on the other hand, brings several managerial insights.
