Abstract (EN)

Both in the world and in our country, transportation is mainly done by sea vessels. Decreasing the amount of fossil fuels consumed in sea vessels, and depending on the consumption, decreased amount of emissions have a great importance from environmental and economic point of view. The amendments to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) were adopted in July 2011.They add a new chapter 4 Regulations on energy efficiency for ships to MARPOL Annex VI, to make mandatory the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), for new ships, and the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) for all ships. The regulations apply to all ships of 400 gross tonnages and above. New regulations aimed at improving the energy efficiency of international shipping entered into force on 01.01.2013. In this study, ship energy efficiency management plan is prepared to the ferry of İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri (IDO) named Osmangazi-1. Under this management plan, energy efficiency operational indicator is chosen and monitored, energy efficiency operational indicator is calculated based on the scenarios. Giving advice about preparation ship energy efficiency plan and performing studies energy efficiency of the ship.
