Özet (EN)
In this thesis, the synergistic effects of phosphorus-based flame retardant additives with hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and nano-additives on the thermal degradation and combustion behavior of polypropylene (PP) were investigated. HALS and different proportions of silicon dioxide, carbon nanotube, titanium dioxide nano-additives used with phosphorus-based flame retardant additives were doped into PP by using a twin-screw micro extruder. The effects of the phosphorus-based flame retardant, alone and combination with HALS and nano-additives on the thermal degradation behavior of PP were evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), on the combustion behavior of PP were evaluated by limit oxygen index (LOI) tests and cone calorimetry tests (CCT). According to the results, it was determined that phosphorus-based flame retardant additives affect the combustion behavior of PP in the gas phase. In addition, when phosphorus-based flame retardant additives were combined with HALS and nano-additives in certain proportions, it has been determined that the LOI value of PP increases and shows synergistic effects in improving combustion behavior by decreasing peak of heat release rate (PHRR) and maximum average rate of heat emission (MARHE) values of PP.
